How I Earn Free Gift Cards Every Month

I’m going to let you in on a little secret…

There are all sorts of ways to get free money.  You may be doing it the easy way by using coupons and rebate apps to save money on your groceries.  I’m here to tell you that there are ways to earn even more.

There are all sorts of programs/websites/apps that will pay you money for you doing certain activities.  These may be downloading an app, watching a video, taking a survey, clicking through a slideshow, or redeeming an offer.  Most programs give you points for these activities, which you then redeem for free gift cards.

**This is the prime way I earn extra money for my grocery budget each month.**

Why not spend money that I got for FREE instead of money that I worked hard for?!  Sounds like a no brainer to me.  🙂

By no means is this an all-inclusive post about all the MANY sites that are available to earn free gift cards.  However, they are the websites and apps that I have personally been successful with, and would recommend hands down.  I’m going to offer you a few program suggestions that can get you started and on your way to earning some free gift cards immediately.

Swagbucks

This is my top recommendation as I’ve found it to be the easiest, most user-friendly platform of them all to earn free gift cards.

Join Swagbucks!
You Can Get Free Gift Cards For Shopping, Searching and Discovering What’s Online at Swagbucks.com

I’ve been a Swagbucks member for a long time, but I didn’t start to really use my account diligently until a few months ago.  I wanted to find a way to earn some extra cash, but didn’t want something that felt like a “job.”  What I love about Swagbucks is that I can do it on my own time.  There’s absolutely zero commitment, and I get out whatever I put in.  I’ll use it regularly for 2-3 days, then give myself a break.

I’ve found that the smartphone app is the most convenient way to do activities.  For instance, I can set it up on a video channel, and practically leave it there to run itself.  Once in a while, I’ll need to click an “x” to move on from an ad, but I don’t find that to be a huge deal.  Generally, for every 6 videos that you watch through the app, you can earn 2 points.  Occasionally, there are little promotions that offer double Swagbucks for watching videos.  Make sure you have your notifications on your cell phone so you can take advantage of these while they’re available!

If you don’t have a smartphone, don’t let that deter you.  There’s even more opportunities available on the actual website.

How you make money is simple – for every activity you complete, you earn points.  Each point is worth 1 penny.  As your points add up, you can redeem them for free gift cards!  The ones I redeem on a regular basis are Amazon, Walmart, and Target.  And just to give you an idea of how easy it is, 300 points can net you a $3 gift card…sweet!

Once per month, you are also allowed a discount on your first redeemed gift card.  For instance, you can get an Amazon gift card that would normally cost 2500 points (valued at $25) for only 2200 points (valued at $22)!

How do you earn points?  That’s easy, too!  There are literally TONS of ways to do it, but I stick with the tried-and-true offers.  Those are completing surveys, watching videos, searching the web, online shopping (doing it through them earns you cash back), and printing grocery coupons.  There are other things to do besides those, but I’ve found those to be the easiest.  Printing the coupons is a no-brainer because every time I redeem a coupon printed through Swagbucks, I get 10 extra points.  It can take a few weeks for those points to show up in my account, but it’s a happy surprise when they do.  😉  I already use coupons on a regular basis, so I might as well get even more money back, ya know?

Do I have you intrigued to start swagging?  If so, just click this link to set up your own account.  Once you’ve earned your first 300 points, you’ll get a $3 bonus!

InboxDollars

InboxDollars is another website similar to Swagbucks, but it has a slightly different platform.  What is unique about them is instead of using a points system, they tell you exactly how much money you will earn for each activity.  For example, a survey could earn you anywhere from $.50 to $3.  You’ll know on the front end before starting an activity how much the payout will be.

Just a couple of unique features they have –

  • If you download the app on your smartphone and have your location settings turned on, you will occasionally get an alert for a quick $.05 for “checking in” at a local store (such as a Walgreens, Target, etc.).  I don’t get it every time I visit one of these places, but I make sure to click the alert to grab that nickle while it’s there.  🙂
  • They also have a daily trivia feature where you can either win a quick penny or “sweeps” to enter a sweepstakes.

Ibotta

If you’re going to go to the grocery store, you might as well make some money from it!  Ibotta has quickly become one of my favorite ways to earn cash back.  Simply download their smartphone app and add some items.  Once you’ve purchased those items at your favorite store, scan your receipt and items to earn money back!  Once you’ve earned a minimum of $20, you can cash it out to Paypal or a large selection of gift cards.  And believe me, getting to $20 will be the easiest thing since sliced bread.

I usually cash out my rebates to a grocery store (Walmart or Target), and that helps me bring my final grocery store total down a lot.  And a quick tip about Target – take all your gift cards to the Guest Services counter and ask them to load everything onto one card.  Will be the biggest time saver of your life (and your cashier will thank you)!

Fetch Rewards

Fetch is fairly new to me, but I love it because there’s really nothing to it!  All you do is go to the grocery store and upload your receipt into their smartphone app.  Simple as that!  Specific items and brands will earn you extra points, but if your receipt contains none of those brands, don’t worry.  You will still receive a minimum of 25 points per receipt.

Once you’ve reached a minimum of 3000 points, you can redeem it for a $3 gift card!  And honestly, their gift card collection is second to none – the choices are endless!

I’ll help you get a head start on your points, too.  Simply use my referral code (PR6UM) when you sign up, and you will get a bonus 1500 points.  You can even go back to scan any receipts from the past 2 weeks and get credit for them, so snag those points while you still can!

Do you know how easy it is to earn free gift cards? It's almost no work at all! Check out this quick post for some ways to earn some extra money today.

So, there you have it – 4 places where you can earn free gift cards on a regular basis.  What you earn really is determined by how much time you invest.  I don’t have a ton of free time, but when I do, I make the most of it by hopping onto one of these apps.

Did you know it's incredibly easy to make money with your fitness tracker? These 3 programs will have you earning extra cash in no time!

I recently started wearing my Fitbit after a looooong hiatus, and it’s so much fun to watch my steps accumulate throughout the day.  I don’t have the free time that I wish I had to go for a good walk, but I try to make the most of morning and afternoon breaks during my day job and to squeeze a quick walk.

After I started wearing my Fitbit again, I got to thinking…  Are there any programs out there where I could earn money for walking?  As a matter of fact, there are!  I’ve only uncovered three worthwhile ones as of writing this post, but as I find more, I’ll certainly pass them along.

Walgreens Balance Rewards

I love Walgreens in general.  I cannot tell you how many times I’ve found something unique there.  Or an incredible bargain.  Or some type of makeup that I have trouble finding elsewhere.  It’s just a great store.

However, I had gotten out of the habit of shopping there.  Once I started back and started using my Balance Rewards card again, they resumed their emails to me with all sorts of offers.  I truly don’t remember what made me check to see if they offered a program for people that utilized my fitness tracker, but I somehow stumbled upon it.  If you want to sync up your fitness tracker to earn rewards, keep reading to see what’s involved with the set up.

First, you’ll need to create an account online at Walgreens.com and sync up your Balance Rewards card.  There are multiple fitness tracker options to choose from.  You’ll earn 20 points per mile walked per day.  With the rewards program, once you’ve reached 5000 points (from all kinds of activities), you automatically earn $5 back from Walgreens.

You can earn points from multiple healthy activities.  I encourage you to check it out if you a) already wear a fitness tracker or b) already maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Achievemint

This is another new program for me, and it’s just as easy to set up.  Simply visit Achievemint.com and set up an account.  Upon joining, you will automatically get 250 points.  Complete your health questionnaire (super easy!) and earn an additional 750 points!

Once you’ve completed those two steps, simply connect your fitness tracker to your account.  I noticed that when I connected mine, it actually went BACK and gave me points for previous days when I wasn’t technically part of the program – bonus!  In addition to earning points for steps, you also earn points for getting a good night’s sleep.  Make sure you wear your fitness tracker at night so you can snatch those points as well.

Once you have earned 10,000 points, you can cash out for a $10 reward!

Humana Go365 (formerly Humana Vitality)

Humana Go365 will only be an option for a handful of people, but if you’re a Humana member and don’t already utilize this program, you’re missing out.  My day job is in the health insurance industry so I’ve discussed this program with several of my clients, and the benefits are amazing.

You can earn points for exercising (multiple options available), for getting your flu shot, going to the dentist, or getting an annual biometric screening just to name a few.  The point values are different depending on what you’re doing.  For instance, a biometric screening will earn you a lot of points.  Earning points from walking requires you to at least reach 10,000 steps in one day.  Specifically for exercising, you have the opportunity to earn bonus points if you multiple workouts in one week.

Once you start seeing your points increase, you can then spend your points on gift cards, movie tickets, or any of the other rewards offered.
